MPH is one of my favorite authors, so I was happy to find a new series by her. The premise is great: 13 years ago a plane appeared in an airport w/ 36 babies and once the babies were taken off the plane, it disappeared. Now, there are people coming back to collect those 36 kids and put them back where they belong, although where that is is up for debate between two factions from the future. Jonah, his sister, and their friend Chip get caught up in the mystery of discovering where the boys come from (they were both adopted 13 years ago) and fight against the men who would take them away from the families they've grown up with. While this was a great story, I was a tad disappointed with some of the writing. Maybe it was because I listened to it, but I've listened to other's of hers and not felt that way. Still, it was not enough to keep me from reading the next one when it comes out!

Honestly........this took a "fantasy"-type turn & then I started losing interest. I was really into it until about 3/4ths of the way through.....just not my type of book.

This was an interesting book. Fast-paced, mysterious with some good characters. Sure there were some problems with it, but I am far beyond the target audience. Overall it was fairly decent for the first book in a series, but I'm not sure I'll continue with the series.

The first part of the book was the most interesting to me. That was when things were shrouded in mystery, when the book dealt with the struggle for identity. The subject of adoption was touched upon quite a lot. I think that if the book continued in that vein, it would've been just fine. But then the mystery was revealed.

And honestly, in itself there's nothing wrong with a story about time-travel. It was interesting how this book used time-travel, but the usual problems cropped up as well. One of the characters even thought through the problems one might face when messing with time. I honestly wish that this story went in a different direction. Maybe the children were aliens, or even something more simplistic like the smuggling ring.

Still, it's a quick read and younger readers will probably enjoy it.

Let me start with the fact that I don't enjoy books that end with "wait for the sequel"

The story was engaging, the characters compelling for pre-teens / early teens & the plot not tell-tale.

I am glad that Sent is already out!
