Another woman that all women should be indebted to that I had never heard of before. Sophie Germain was truly amazing. This is a great biography.

Give me ALL the picture book biographies about women mathematicians. This was a great, mellow way to introduce the history of women’s rights (and lack thereof) to my first grade students. Some of the math topics probably went over their heads, but it gave them a look into history and hopefully helped it seem natural that women can be just as good at math as men.

This is a fantastic biography of a truly impressive woman who pursued her passion despite the lack of support for a woman at the time. The integration of numbers in the artwork adds a layer to this story that couldn't be more perfect.
What I love most of all is that this book doesn't shy away from her failures. In books like this some would be less likely to avoid someone getting something wrong but the inclusion of that part of her story brings this book a step higher in my opinion. Additionally the message this book sends to girls going after something they're passionate about no matter the obstacle is truly a great one.

Very impressed by the writing and the illustrations. I wish more books like this existed. Or maybe they do, and I just haven't found them yet!

Beautiful and delightful. It is a joy to read these kinds of well created and thoughtful biographies to my children.

Interesting biography of a woman who loved math, made it her life's work, and pretty much forced the patriarchy to accept her work.
