If you are a Jack Reacher fan, this will be entertaining, especially the last third. However, it’s not one of the better novels written by Lee and Andrew Child.

In the end this book came through in true Reacher style. However, getting to that point was NOT NEARLY as enjoyable as in previous books. I have noticed that since Andrew Child became involved with writing the books, in book 25, that they are not as good.
The Reacher books used to be my favorite books to read. That is no longer the case.

A woman is pushed under a bus and it is ruled a suicide. Reacher doesn't like that so he decides to investigate.
This one felt like a different Reacher. This is a potential issue with such a well loved character. It is taking Andrew time to find his feet with Reacher and it shows. Although that said it does make you realise just how well written and purposeful previous Reacher books have been. This feels like it needed some edits and some "punching" up. I was waiting on the kid and Reacher to cross over as beautifully as I've seen happen in other books but that didn't happen like I wanted it to .
Still a decent book overall though.

It hurts my heart to rate this book as a DNF. I have been a Lee Child fan and a Jack Reacher fanatic since forever. This book was a huge disappointment. Jack Reacher is no more. The action and thrills are gone. The sub-stories are completely unnecessary. The narrator is dull and lifeless. I made it through 4 1/2 hours of listening before I threw in the towel. Since Lee Child turned the reins of the Reacher novels over, the books have gotten worse and worse. It may be time to put Reacher on a Greyhound bus to nowhere and let him fade away.
Who is this Andrew Child bloke and what has he done with Lee?
Andrew Child has managed to reduce Reacher to a violent, dull, humourless thug. The bad guys are cartoons, the side plots pointless and their characters one-dimensional.. even Jef, who has the most believable back story.
The end of this mediocre ramble where four questionable plots come together is laughable.
In short, avoid.
1 star because I finished it...even if only to see just how bad this novel could be. Bad.
