This novel is one of the more fast-paced of Heyer's novels, and I was entertained from start to finish.  The power dynamic between the male and female leads is more even than the plot would suggest.

In other Heyer novels with similar "young, naive wife debuts in London," the husband is typically completely in the know and waiting to swoop in and save her.  In this book, they are more often taking turns helping the other, and both are bettered by their adventures together.

I also deeply enjoyed the group of friends that give the plot a color and liveliness that made me laugh out loud.

What is Friday's Child? Its one of the longest of Heyer's novels. Its basically a hilarious comedy of errors about a hasty marriage, which both parties could easily come to have repented: but end up finding that they are deeply and truly in love.

Well worth reading from a classic Regency author.

I borrowed the audiobook because Amazon recently had the Kindle edition on sale.

Another masterpiece of humour and delight from the Queen of regency romance. Loved it, laughed until I cried at it, enjoyed plenty of awesome secondary characters and I recommend it to anybody, who is in need of an immediate mood booster!

This is a regency-era England take on a cross between A Midsummer's NIght Dream & Much Ado About Nothing. One of the main character's is even named Hero. The main characters are selfish, volatile, of questionable morals, naive, & submissive & adoring to a fault, yet somehow so likable. I found this book super funny. It's a light, fast read. It could have been cut down a bit in the last 100 pages. It also uses so much regency-era slang that I had to Google Georgette Heyer to find a list of terms & definitions.

I almost DNF'd at 30% because I was so frustrated with the lack of character development.  It did grow on me somewhat around 50% when the action started to pick up a bit.  Overall, writing was light and humerous, characters felt like shallow stereotypes, but it was not unpleasant to read.  Didn't feel like a modern romance novel even though some of the tropes are there.  I think it is more of a comedy.
