CW: Rape on & off page, pedophilia, sex traffic, death in childbirth, monster sex, enslavement.

The tone shift from book 1 to 2 was drastic & miserable. Book 1 read like a cozy fantasy mystery with a couple high stake scenes. I stuck through it longer than I should have, trying to view the lens of midwifery seeing she sexual violence & healing through it but I couldn’t stomach it. The FMC kept being promoted to another level of a archaic sect with literally her being the only member & not doing anything to save anyone by 60% - you are weak & useless & I’m tired of waiting for the whining to stop & for some type of pay off/change/improvement.

Also again an EDITOR(S) would really help with contradicting story lines.

The FMC saying she missed & wished her sister was with her while she was enslaved watching her friends being raped & used. Her then also saying she was glad to see her friends in the demon realm… who were also being raped, enslaved, forced to murder. WTF?!

This book is just as incredible as the first one. Once I started reading, I was unable to stop.

The developing relationship between Saraya and Drake is just…everything I love seeing with enemies-to-lovers.

As for that cliffhanger? I am eagerly awaiting the third book now to see how it ends

Now this is far from the most original series but man it’s fun to read. Quick, thrilling, and a phenomenal main character, I adore Saraya.
