A very witty and light read. I could relate to Jane’s cooking and her banter with her sister. The story was entertaining and kept me turning pages. A book I’d recommend between heavier reads.

This was a weird (in a good way) book. There were a lot of plotlines that came together a bit too conveniently, vague time-skips and a lot of unrealistic dialogue but I didn't even care. It was a fun, easy read and it really warmed my heart to read about two characters coming together. I wish there was more of it.
And as an ESL-speaker, I learned a lot of words from this book.

This was a fun beach read. The characters were quirky but not ridiculous and the premise was unique and interesting. Will definitely read more Lipman!
The romance in this was just weird. It's all about friends with benefits, and then, bam, they are in love and gets a marriage proposal! I didn't see it coming. lol I didn't mind the premise of the book though--two people who live in the same building in NYC, both with ankle bracelets for white-collar crime home confinement. Does this really happen a lot? I have no idea. I didn't connect much to any of the characters, but it was a fast and easy read.

Enjoyable book on audio. But I wasn’t invested in anyone. And I think some of the side stories (the green card marriage) could have been omitted as fluff.
