So quick, fun and cheesy. Exactly what I wanted at the time.
3.5/5 So I guess it’s a romcom? All in all I think this story did a good job at constantly moving forward. Even though the main character was stuck in her apartment building, the story never got stuck. I did feel like it petered out at the end. It made me ask: “is this what the story has really been about? Was everything else just noise?” It wasn’t necessarily confusing, I just think there were so many enjoyable plot threads that the author could’ve gone in a number of other enjoyable directions.

This book was pretty void of emotion in my opinion. I May have laughed under my breath at a few points but it made me feel nothing other than relief when it was over. The main character starts a friend with benefits relationship with her also on home confinement neighbor. It’s obviously he wants more but she’s entirely oblivious. Then after what 6 or so months he proposes when they’re both ankle monitor free. Meanwhile neither expressed that they like or love each other? It was just strange. Not to mention her twin is self righteous and has a superiority complex she annoyed me the whole entire time. I wish I could have gone back in time and ignored the woman at Target who saw me eyeing this novel and recommended I read it.

I don’t remember reading the back of this book, so I was very surprised by some of the plot points. I think the plot of lawyer under house arrest is fun. I’m not too sure what category this would go under. I wouldn’t say it’s a romcom and definitely not a mystery thriller. My only gripe with the book is that it talks about food, A LOT. Even after reading the summary on the back, the food was an odd addition to the book.
