Only way I can describe this book is “mid.” To me, it seemed like the book couldn’t decide what it wanted to be — comedy, murder mystery, romance, happy ending, etc. I loved Lipman’s writing style, especially her attention and detail in conversations. Overall, not impressed with this novel; however, it was a light, fun, and easy read.

A fun easy read! A previous guest left this at my bro's summer place so I picked it up and whipped through it. I wasn't quite sure what to expect - certainly not a romance.
Ultimately the book is about resiliency and finding love and success in unexpected ways. (Of course, the characters had plenty of privelege and resource that made bouncing back much easier) . An offbeat but quintessential summer read.
