found this very very readable and pretty enjoyable but didnt love. the mc was a bit too self-destructive at times for my enjoyment & I would have liked a bit more resolution. other than that a good read.

i really enjoyed this authors writing, i found that even when the characters were doing mundane things, it was still somehow described in interesting ways that kept me engaged. i definitely didn’t think that Mickey had everything together or always made decisions that i agreed with, especially regarding T.

I would’ve liked a bit more of a resolution between her and Lex, but i kind of liked the fact that Mickey and the book were both a bit messy, because it showed how real life can often not go the way you planned. i do think that both Lex and Mickey were complicit in their relationship going sideways, it wasn’t just Mickey’s fault.

i also enjoyed the fact that this book discussed misogynoir in the work place. it didn’t necessarily wrap things up neatly with everything with her job, but i felt like it brought awareness to racism that often goes overlooked due to it not being obvious or blatant.
