A bit anticlimactic at the ending but the first 2/3 are absolutely worth it. Breq’s breakdown outside the ship while shooting them while gate hopping was SO well done. And then it kind of fizzled, unfortunately.
Oh my god it was really good. It’s hard to end a trilogy in a satisfying way, but this really did a lot right. I particularly enjoyed the in-universe version of 99 bottles of beer on the wall.
NOT AS GOOD AS THE OTHERS WITH AN ENDING THAT NEEDED MORE OOMPH, NOT IN AN ACTION SENSE BUT IN AN EMOTIONAL SENSE. PULLS PUNCHES. STILL GOOD BUT VERY 'BOY AM I TIRED OF MY WIP' WITH A SIDE OF 'LOL WHOOPS I HAVE NO IDEA HOW TO SOLVE ALL THESE PROBLEMS I INTRODUCED SO I GUESS THE ANSWER IS THERE IS NO SOLVING THEM!'

i love these characters so much. seivarden... i'd do anything for you
i LOVE the dynamic between breq, sphene, and translator zeiat. obsessed. "we're not cousins anymore"
anaander mianaai (the dicator and tyrant) being so disgusted with foysf that it actually affected the plot made me giggle

Ancillary Mercy is downright Humorous. I think it might actually be my favorite of the three. I love the presence of Translator Zeiiat and of Sphene-- Dlique being just a humble foreshadowing of the delightful amount of nonsense to come-- and, of course, the steady payoff of politicking and resolution of Breq's revenge. It's such a satisfying trilogy!

SO IMPORTANT SO GOOD I AM UNDONE
please talk to me about Breq "most comforting example of an asexual main character i've yet read"
i'm also happy to talk about how this book deftly managed multiple climactic moments while maintaining tension and pacing.

What makes a person a person? Pretty much the premise for the whole series
Translator Zeiat was a hoot. And Kalr Five my beloved, and her dishes.
