More like 3.5 stars. I listened to this “page turner” and was totally engaged but it was kind of cheesy and read like a movie.

I really liked this book a lot! It was a good one to get me started reading again.

Beach read. Didn't care about any of the characters. Didn't like the ending.

I love Patterson's books. As always a quick easy read but a page turner at that with twists and turns you do not expect.

Super simple writing style, which made for a quick -but underwhelming read.

Good read. I love James Patterson!

First book in what looks like a duology. I guess I'll know whether it was meant to be more if I do go on to the next book. Which, I might. I didn't know there was a second book until I looked at the hoopla audio book and saw "series". This book ended in a way that you could stop with this one and be okay with it. No cliff hangers.

This book was narrated by two people, one male (Campbell Scott), one female (Hope Davis). They were decent narrators. Hope seemed to be a bit monotone a lot of the time but she was bearable. I almost gave up on the audio book altogether and started physically reading it but I picked it back up again when I wanted to continue the book while doing other things.

The book itself was good and kept you reading but by the end of it all, I just felt like it was just, well, good. Nothing to scream from the rooftops about. Would I recommend it? Yes. I would tell people not to go into it expecting a blockbuster book but just a good, entertaining read. I'd still recommend the audio book but the one I listened to would sometimes go silent in parts and by the time it comes back on, you've missed 10-30 seconds of the story. So, if possible, have the book nearby and if you're able to in the moment, pick it up to see what you missed. I am not sure if it's the audiobook altogether or just the hoopla version.

It took me a bit to get through it because I did have times I didn't want to read. Then, there was a time that I couldn't hear the book on my phone & on my laptop (at first, I thought it was because of my laptop I couldn't hear certain parts) and I needed to get another kindle. I finally got it and was able to finish it last night (3/22/21).

Utter trash, but reasonably good utter trash!

This was my first James Patterson book. I'd seen the commericals about it coming out and thought I would give him a try. I've been hooked on his books ever since!
