The plot wasn't bad, I wasn't bored and the sex scenes were quite good.
So why the low rating? because I didn't connect with the book and my entire experience could be resumed by these three words "I don't know".
I don't know how I feel about the book. I feel like it was so bland that I cannot tell how I feel.
Also Arik wans't a likeable character; I understood where he was coming from but I didn't care for it.
I might try and read the next book to see if it was a fluke or this series is really not for me.

3.5 stars for the second installment of this mm shifter romance series.
🐺love spell
🐺forced proximity
🐺dislike to lovers
🐺so much trauma
🐺evil abusive alpha villain
🐺jealousy/possessiveness
🐺domestic fluff
I loved Matthew and Arik - this mismatched pair are forced together because of Arik’s love spell which leads to distrust and severe dislike between them and from the rest of the pack. But Arik’s background and his insecurities hit really hard - I was tearing up at some points. He deserves the world and Matthew eventually wants to give it to him and protect him as much as he can without smothering him. They’re truly so cute.
The plot and characters were developed more in this one with the introduction of an overarching plot that the characters will have to deal with. I enjoyed the Ian and Nate cameos and getting to see more magical socks!!
Next up is Colin, who as we’ve seen from this book is a newly minted pack leader recovering from his crush on Arik. He seems like a genuinely good guy so I’m excited for his story.

I needed a palette cleanser and this was it, and it was great; also huge feat for pulling off a 'snarky' MC who was both consistent and funny rather than Very Annoying (he makes Nate look a bit childish by comparison lmao) but yeah very into this, I'm gonna go ahead and pick up More as a Treat
