This was a good read. It's my first Bryndza book,  but definitely not the last.

I found it a bit confusing.
Some characters that are not at all relevant to the story, some confusing investigation and clues going on...
Generally the story and plot where fine.
Found the middle a bit slow for my liking, since I prefer when it starts slow and ends with a faster pace.

The only good thing about this book was the short chapters.

Plot-wise, new developments of the investigation kept coming up out of the blue, insinuating that the author didn’t really think the story through. There were a lot of details that weren’t consistent (Boots the cat being referred to as female when initially it was mentioned he was male, Erika saying Linda had the habit of leaving notes as mentioned by Barbora when Barbora didn’t even say that, etc).

As policemen, the Met police too were quite unprofessional. Erika being very emotional and almost noob-like at the job, Sparks having random beef with her like some kind of immature child despite being on the same team and even Marsh being a friend to Erika one moment and against her the next.

whoa! what a twist! I had my thoughts set on one person from the beginning but that changed right at the end. can't wait to read the next book!

I am looking forward to reading more in this series.

I hadn’t read anything by Robert Bryndza before but the cover of ‘The Girl in the Ice’ caught my attention and I love a thriller so I had to give it a go.

I’m so glad I did, it kept me interested and in suspense throughout. It was a great holiday read and kept me entertained for a sun drenched day of solid reading in between dips in the pool!

I will definitely be buying the next novel in the Erika Foster series.
