This was actually a interesting book, the story line about a rich family hiding secrets from each other. DCI Foster has a rough time going back into the police department. She has a great determination for finding the truth and putting herself on the line. I thought the story moved at a great pace, nice and steady, keeping the information moving and the suspense building. Characters were well developed and have potential to continue to grow. I am looking forward to the next DCI Erica Foster book.

I have to say to story got me right away and I enjoyed reading it.. but there were some bits that were just mwah and that is way it got 3.5 stars from me. Liked the characters and how the mystery is solved but I guessed the ending a little to early..

Enjoyable and suspenseful police procedural. Half star ratings not allowed but this is really a 3 1/2. Recommended especially if you like strong female characters.

'Het meisje in het ijs' stond al een tijdje op mijn lijstje voor een leeschallenge, maar steeds koos ik toch iets anders. Nu was het dan eindelijk zover: ik heb het gelezen!

Het verhaal volg je vooral door de ogen van inspecteur Erika Foster. Af en toe krijg je ook een kijkje in het hoofd van de dader, wat voor wat extra spanning zorgt.

Ik had er best hoge verwachtingen van, maar eerlijk gezegd viel het een beetje tegen. Sommige stukken kwamen traag op gang en de strijd tussen collega’s kreeg wat mij betreft iets te veel aandacht.
