DCI Foster will literally do anything to catch the criminal, which made for a tense and gripping read. I didn’t even know who did it until just before it was revealed. The author did really well with hiding the murderer amongst all the twists and turns of the story.

An adictive page turner, kept me enthrailed page after page, wanting to solve the case and keep up with DCI Foster's life as it unfolds.
I know from experience what is like to loose a spouse, and although she is a fictional character i keep hoping she'll be able to cope through it just as I AM trying. Thanks Mr. Bryndza for such a captivating thriller and an even more damaged yet brilliant character.

Damn you, Goodreads, and your lack of half-star ratings!
Anyway, this is a solid mystery thriller that feels very Nordic Noir, which is something I'm always interested in. Unfortunately, Eastern European stereotypes strike yet again, and that's definitely annoying (how do I always find these books? or is this really that common of a trope?), but overall I was engaged the entire time and really enjoyed discovering how this mystery unfolded - it's well-paced and well-told. Loved the perspective of Detective Erika Foster, will continue the series soon - judging by the ratings, the books only get better from here.

Fantastic page-turner. It took me a few chapters to get hooked but then I had to keep reading. It was the type of book that you cancel other plans to finish reading, or at least I do. Going to start the next Erika Foster book now!
Most sold book in Amazon for 2016 and “you should like it if you love Jo Nesbo”. Quite not. Not at all.
As entertaining, story had so many cliches and plot-holes, it even felt a bit weird. Even though, I must say, Erika is interesting character with interesting story, the story itself really did not work. It lacked motives. It lacked the right timeline. It lacked debt.
But happy to give Bryndza another try since he is still activly writing.
