I liked this more & more, the further I got. She is honest & funny.
Wow! This was a surprising and relatable read. I listened to this one read by the author. Busy Phillips is a great story teller. I loved how real she was regarding her marriage and Hollywood extremes.
I first heard of Busy Phillips when I watched Cougar Town. (Note: I watched Dawson’s Creek and others she was in, but for some reason she only registered when she starred in CT). She was so funny. I wondered where she went after that and now I know. Apparently she’s a super big Instagram star. I did not know this but am planning on following her now that I do.

Really easy to read, and semi-relatable for a celebrity memoir! As a pop culture fan, liked reading about the celebrity gossip here and there but also just appreciated her “real ness” and candor.
Busy Phillips is very charming and sometimes good at telling stories.
I listened to the audio book. Busy's voice is a little wearing at time, but overall I thought her story was great. She references crying and sobbing a LOT, but I don't think that's a reason not to read it. She's brutally honest about the people she has worked with throughout her career , which I found to be pretty refreshing. She's kind of a bad ass and her book is worth a read if you're a fan. Also, sadly, many of her stories are timely and poignant given the current political climate and recent #metoo movement.
I love Busy Philipps but actually had low expectations thinking, sure, another celeb getting in on the book market. But I was pleasantly surprised at the quality and substance. I listened to the audio version and would highly recommend that if you’re used to her voice on her Insta-stories or her podcast We’re No Doctors; it’s like you’re in the room with her while she tells the stories. I appreciate the combination of honesty about Hollywood, vulnerable moments, and light stuff.
Such an entertaining, hilarious, & heartfelt memoir… simply fantastic storytelling.
4.5 stars. I love Busy Philipps, love her Instagram stories and love this book. This is a real memoir, I doubt she held too much back, except for a few specific names. I listened to the audiobook, which I think might be the only way to do it. There's so much feeling behind her narration, I'm not sure how that will come off when reading it.
I got the audio version read by the author and listened to it while I did yard-work. It was a very conversational book and what felt like a pretty unflinching look at her life. The good, bad, sad, ugly, happy and all of it. It truly did feel like you were sitting down having a conversation with her and she was telling you all of this. It was a great book and like I appreciate her sharing it all.
This book tracks the Busy Phillips you see on the screen. Her wild life and "sparkle" make for a good story but her brutal honesty boosted the rating towards the 4th star. Can't wait to hear about her next chapters.
