This was... something. Busy often seemed entitled and bitter which, to me, didn’t sit well. She came off as angry but tried to laugh it off. It was weird.
I loved that she isn’t afraid to name names though, calling out actors and others in the business for being dicks. Those parts made me laugh.
2.5 stars.

I loved this book so much. Busy is an amazing narrator and she is so relatable - it hurts sometimes. Hearing her abortion story and her rape story touched me in a way I didn’t think was possible. I hope the best for her and her family and am now going to follow her on Instagram because apparently I’ve been missing out. I highly recommend!
This book made me cry within the first 100 pages but don’t let that stop you from picking it up. I have a huge appreciation for Busy’s realness and badass way of creating her life and overcoming obstacles.
Huge thanks to Simon & Schuster Canada for sending me this ARC ❤️

Did not care for this book and it took me quite a while to get through it. I renewed it twice as well.
Just about the perfect celebrity memoir. Honest, dishy, funny.
Well, I listened to this.
And I feel very bad for some of the life events that shaped the author's view on the world.
But talking about her house being a burden (when she literally didn't listen to the people that she hired to make good decisions for her business-wise and they said don't buy it and then she bought another house that they couldn't afford or whatever), I had a hard time relating to her poor decision making on a lot of fronts. She seems like a baby sometimes, or a pre-teen, and it was not my cup of tea. I'm sure it's only one side of her, but it just wasn't for me.

I blew through the audiobook of Busy Phillips’ memoir in one day. It’s a really funny, entertaining, inspiring and courageous book covering her teenage escapades, career, relationships marriage and motherhood.
There are many lessons for individuals and our world throughout. Phillips talks candidly about being sexually assaulted as a teen and wanting a world where kids understand consent better, and she repeatedly calls out sexism and sexual harassment in show business. She does an excellent job narrating her work (her impression of her mom is a highlight) and I felt grateful to spend 7.5+ hours in the virtual company of such a badass, determined woman.

This was an interesting read and enjoyable. However, I wanted to scream at her at times. I'd be like 'this is a bad relationship, why are you doing it?' Granted, it was her perspective and she says that before the book starts. Even so, I've enjoyed following Busy on IG and I must say that learning more about her was interesting, but I definitely am not as much of a fan as I was before.
To me, this book is a lesson in forgiveness and grace; to be thankful to be in the waiting room.
