I read a lot of celebrity memoirs. This is a really good celebrity memoir. It is well written, she has interesting stories, and there is just so much to unpack here. From sexual assault, to abortion, to sexual harassment, to her friendship with Michelle Williams and Heath Ledger’s death, this is just a fascinating book. I read it in two days.

Such a fun read. And despite Busy’s celebrity status, she’s so relatable. I loved it.
Great book. I love Busy and she has an interesting story too tell. Bonus that is was an audio book and hearing her tell her story is even better.
I am embarrassed to say that I actually did not know who Busy Phillips was when I got this audiobook. The book had good reviews, so I decided to try it. I enjoyed listening to her and I appreciated her honesty in discussing hard times in her life. Also, we should all have someone like her mother in our corner.
3.5
I really like Busy Phillips and her body of work, and it was wonderful, listening to her narrate her life. But as a memoir, this one is far from perfect. It's a bit messy and all over the place. I wanted to hear more of some parts and less of others, but I digress...
This is not my memoir or my life so this rating is subjective (obviously).
Would I recommend this book to Busy Phillips fans, though?
Most definitely.

(Audiobook) 3/4 loved this, 1/4 hated it. I loved hearing everything about Busy’s childhood and her super messed up and relatable teen years. She is hilarious, has a lot to say, and says it well.
Later on, though, the complaining about money troubles when she still has a nanny and a weekly house cleaner: less interesting and pretty annoying.
Overall: fun to listen to. It’s basically Kim Kelly talking to you for hours.

Oh, the adventures, the trials, the joys and the insanity of Hollywood. Always inspired by Busy.

“I was really into raves that year.” Busy Philipps
I listened to the audiobook, because OF COURSE I DID! I’m not a fool. Busy’s book was highly entertaining and way more heartfelt that I was prepared for hearing. I cried real tears in the chapter about her abortion.
And…her mom. Busy doing her mom’s voice. It’s so good. I could listen to her mom stories - forever.
I believe Busy was trying to be authentic and honest, sometimes too brutally honest. Don’t prove me wrong, actress I will never meet in person! I admit it... I loved hearing the celebrity stories. This was a fun read. Now, excuse me while I go rewatch all 6 seasons of Cougar Town.
