Ahhh, I freaking love this book.

Vlad is a Vampire who will never die and in his boredom, he takes over cities. Vlad has many cool powers, but the funnest is his ability to come to people in their sleep.

Maxine is a empath who is able to feel the pain of everyone around her. With her powers she is also able to essentially astral project into spaces with the help of amulets.

The Vampire hunters want to stop Vlad with the help of Maxine.

But what happens when Vlad and Maxine have this undeniable connection.

Literally amazing. Between the tension, aching, dirty talk, "MINE," DunCon/NC, this book was such a trip in the best way possible.

"with no other warning, the fist met her temple."

So... he punched her. Just say that.

I enjoyed this story. I didn't find Dracula bleak, nor did I find Maxine a driveling mess. My only issue is the unnecessary use of filler words. So many filler words like the aforementioned. The entire book is riddled with them and it really interrupts the flow of the story, like a random fuckin speed bump you didn't see as you were hauling across the page.
When homie got mad, his eyes turned red "from lid to lid." We are reminded of this each and every time his angy eyes are described. Listen, that's cool and all, but like, I get it. I know they are ENTIRELY red. I learned this the first time, now just lemme know when they go back to normal. You don't have to keep reminding the reader that Dracula's got his angy eyes on.

Either way, good story.

Sexy buildup but no actual sex, so hate that.

I really wanted to like this. It seemed the perfect book for me. But in the end the characters fell short. I just didn’t love any of them and when I don’t really enjoy any of the characters anything they do is most likely to just be meh.
I’m sad because I’ve read an article by the author about Dracula which got me so hyped for this book. But then I was just eh the entire time.
For a second there I thought I just had book fatigue but I just read Lady for a Duke which got me swooning every other page and obsessed with all the characters. So it’s definitely not me.

This was so boring. Stopped at 85% because I just couldn’t keep going. Nothing was happening anymore
adventurous dark fast-paced

I kept reading it, so it couldn’t have been that bad. Engaging for sure. Fun take on Dracula.

It was fine. I found it a bit lengthy. I'm not sure if I will continue the series.
