10 out of 10 stars 🌟 this book felt like being wrapped in your grandma’s quilt on a snowy day and having her tell you stories of her grandma. The matriarchal magic!!!! 🥹 this book twisted my heart in the best ways possible. 🫶 I looove folk magic and that’s what this book was all about. Herbalism! 🌼 Rituals for love and luck! 🥰 healing illness and empowering women in a time when women had negative power!!!!! 🙂↕️ coming back from the fucking dead!!! 👀 Heavy on the medicine / healer aspect of witchcraft; which I looooooved. Am I going to go make my own recipe for Courage Tea? Absolutely. I gotta go practice the craft 🙂↔️

4.5 stars. I love Alice Hoffman and the world she creates. I didn’t know she was writing a story for Maria and to be honest, after reading Practical Magic and The Rules of Magic, I didn’t think there was much more I needed to learn about Maria. But there was and I’m grateful for it. My only complaint is the first 100 pages are pretty boring. It takes awhile for this book to really get going. But I loved it all the same.
