I received the ARC from Lori Collier. I did not get the chance to review all the stories in this book.

Hamilton House - Lori Collier 3.5 stars
A short, fast paced, action filled, paranormal story. The story was full of shifters and witches as well as a house shrouded in magic, and not necessarily a completely positive force.

There was also a touch of romance included between Darius and Everly. There combined strength and love for one another seemed to be the only thing that would allow them to have their HEA.

One Hot Night - Golden Angel 4 stars
This story left me hanging. It wasn't a cliffhanger. I t didn't answer the questions I had left, yet, it made me want to know more about Brian, Rae, Domi, Mitch, and Morgan.

I felt like like the Brian and Rae situation was only resolved for the moment. What was going to happen when they left the private room?

Love Merger - Maddie Wade 5 stars
This was a sweet love story. I liked the way Grace and Gray threw the snark and sarcasm back and forth. They were both likable characters. I was not expecting the surprise Grace's father threw at them. I was glad they got their HEA.

Protecting Sydney - RJ Gray 3.25 stars
I did like this story. I liked Sydney and Wes. I thought Lily was cute. I liked the way Wes was so careful with both Sydney and Lily. Out of the short stories I have read so far, this one had the most suspense which helped to keep me engaged.

I thought the only drawback to their story was that I didn't get much of a sense of Sydney and Wes' interaction. From Sydney's POV, she talked about how she felt closer to Wes, about how he was loving on them, and how he was caring for her with his actions.

Sydney talked about them talking about their lives, but they really had no dialogue in the book that made me feel like they were getting closer to each other. When they did have dialogue, it was about the threat lurking over them.

Rest assured, Wes, Sydney, and Lily did get their HEA.

********
These were the only short stories I read. If I get the opportunity to read the other stories in the book, I will update the review.

I voluntarily read and reviewed the Advanced Reader Copy of this book.

Color Theory 3 is a collection of ten short stories by today’s biggest romance authors. Below I’ll break down my thoughts on each story. Overall this was a good series, there were stories that didn’t interest me and others that I really liked. There is something for everyone in this set of short stories. I got my overall star rating from the average of my rankings for the ten stories.

3 stars - Veiled Truths by A.M. Kusi is a romance heavy on the BDSM at the beginning, but once you get into the story it becomes a sweet romance with a dark side. A few chapters in, the story gains some actual storyline that isn’t fully about all of the BDSM and the characters actually connect on a personal level. I wasn’t a huge fan of the BDSM, that’s just not my thing in romances, but once the story picked up, I did enjoy it.

2 stars - A Dance with a Monster by Christy Anderson is a textbook Stockholm Syndrome romance. I am not a huge dan of these type of romances so, this wasn't for me. This was a well written and engaging story, but it wasn't for me. I think someone who enjoys this type of story would like this romance.

2 stars - One Hot Night by Golden Angel is a hot and a tree Amy romance full of 50 Shades type domination. This was definitely not for me, I am not a huge fan of this type of romance, but I can definitely see how others would like it.

3 stars - Hamilton House by Lori Collier is a paranormal romance full of different types of supernatural beings, like witches and shifters. This story was full of action and was well written. Even though it was short, there was a whole lot to the story. The romance was a little on the light side, but this was action filled and a quick read.

3 stars - In Thank my Lucky Stars by Lyra Parish, two old flames reconnect years later and admit they still have feelings for each other. This was a well written short romance, but I didn’t connect with the characters much so I couldn’t get into it like some other romances. I liked the idea of the story, but it just wasn’t for me.

3 stars - Love Merger by Maddie Wade is a romance about a businessman who is instantly intrigued by a woman he sees walking into a coffee shop. Intent on getting to know her, Gray follows her in and meets her. Will she end up being the woman of Gray’s dreams or something else entirely? There were parts of this romance that I liked, but parts that rubbed me the wrong way as well. Some of the things that happened seemed a little outdated and convoluted for me. Not my favorite short story in this bunch.

4 stars - My Past Perfect by Mel Walker is a romance about reconnecting at a high school reunion with the one you let get away. I found this to be an enjoyable, sweet read. It was a bit predictable, like a lot of romances, but I still really liked the story.

3 stars - Last Promise by Phoebe Alexander is a romance story involving a polyamorous couple. Lainey is the woman in the relationship and her two partners are also police officers who are partnered together. When a night on the job turns deadly and only one of the two men is left standing, Lainey has to come to terms with the giant changes in her life and relationship. Overall I enjoyed the idea of this short story, but I think it might have been better if it was a little longer and had time to have more of a story play out. I did enjoy this read, it just didn’t have as much punch for me as I think it could have if it was a full book.

4 stars - In Protecting Sydney by RJ Grey, Sydney’s ex gets out of prison and comes looking for her and their daughter. In steps Wes, a retired Navy SEAL, to help keep them safe as he serves as their bodyguard. Along the way will Wes’ need to protect Sydney turn into something more? I loved this pairing from the very beginning and even though I wasn’t a huge fan of the violent ex storyline, I loved the ending of this short story. It was so sweet!

4 stars - Waxing Poetic by Sarah Robinson is the romance of two friends who finally get together. The two had friend zoned each other when they first met, but faced with some of life’s challenges, they can’t seem to stay apart. This was a cute story and I enjoyed the friendship these two characters shared before they crossed the line into more than friends. Even though this was a short story and I knew they were going to get together, I still found myself hoping they would from the first page!

Overall, I thought this short story collection was a good mix with many different types of romance, something for everyone!

This is a collection of short stories, some with trigger warnings. I did not read them all as some were just not my thing. But if you're looking for some really quick reads that cover topics from poly, interracial couples to non binary, these stories are for you. I enjoyed the mix of Strong Black female characters.

This is a very good way to get to know a slew of authors and also donate to a great cause! This was a fabulous idea and a great read!

What did I like? I love shorts that are steamy and Christy Anderson does not disappoint! Please read the warnings. Sully and Catherine may have met under fire but their beginning is just stunning.

Would I buy or recommend? This is the 3rd anthology and I’ve enjoyed them all. This one holds a great variety of authors and short stories! I was given a copy to offer my opinion and I will definitely buy a copy for my shelf!
Five huge stars!
