Book five in which Auren goes through the rift. And Slade lays waste to all that hurt his lady love.
I enjoyed this book, though it was a little harder to grind through than the previous ones, I think part of that is because Slade and Auren and the Wrath are separated, we get to meet new people in Auren's life.
We also get to find out about Auren's past which is going to be complicated in book 6, I fear.
Queen Malina gets to redeem herself, which I am happy about because i feel like she was as big of a victim as Auren was, in that her needs, and feelings, and desires for power and to be appreciated were ignored because of her lack of magic. Queen Kaia well she is a case study of wanting to be adored but not looking below the surface at her own lack of morals and courage to be an actual real person. I felt bad for her brother Manu, he is a case study of why blind loyalty is not always a good idea although the siblings were very loyal to each other and that was nice to see. I am considering a break from the series I know i am one book away from being done, but i am a bit burnt out and as much as I love the characters, they are starting to make me want to smack them.

It took me a little longer to get into this series. BUT other reviewers SWEAR by this book. It wasn't for me but doesn't mean it was bad. The series gets better after the first 2 books and I think the first 2 books do a really good job setting up physically and emotionally. For some reviewers this series is GOD TIER so don't go just off me!

My rating: 3/5
I would recommend this book/series to avid romantasy readers.

THE CLIFFHANGER HAS ME IN A CHOKEHOLD 😭

It was a bit slow at first but the pace picked it up.
There was some predictable twist and others one I had to take a break because of the shock
