9/3: Started last night; I am so ridiculously excited for this book. I have quite the soft spot for the O'Malley sisters, especially since they live in Wisconsin, close to where I grew up.

9/14: Oh Lesley Kagen, how can I thank you for this series? I'd love to give this book 10 stars. I adore Sally & Troo and I can only hope that there will be more. It took me a while to finish because I wanted to savor it. I definitely will re-read it.

I did not like this book as much as its predecessor, Whistling in the Dark, which is one of my all time favorite books. However, the character's are just as endearing and the story line enough to keep you turning pages.

This is the sequel to Whistling in the Dark, an excellent book. This one was not nearly as good as the first one.

I think I have decided I don't enjoy audio books when the pov is from a child. The reader just ends up annoying me and I am assuming that factors into how much I enjoy the story. I also question the validity of so much ick happening to one family/neighborhood in such a short period of time. I can't find any indication that I read the first book, but I know I used to have it bc the cover is too familiar to me. That makes me wonder if I started it and gave up b4 getting very far into it.

God does work inn mysterious ways. Life in 1960 from the child's perspective is so sweet. Is this really historical fiction?

I'm giving this novel a 4 star-rating because it was fabulously written, though I was disturbed by the ending and liked it less when I finished than when I was in the midst of it.

My favorite aspect of Good Graces was the performance by the author on the audiobook. Her voice with its Wisconsin twang nearly sang its way through the story, completely capturing the height and depth of Sally O'Malley. I laughed time and time again at her 12 year-old perceptions of 1960, which honestly are what make this book so worth reading. But take my advice - listen the the audio version instead!

I enjoyed picking up where Whistling in the Dark stopped. The sisters are still as funny and wild as they were in the first book, and they continue on with their antics. Love the neighborhood and the cast of characters.

Love Whispering in the Dark, this was just ok. It was nice to read about the characters again, but not the greatest plot.
