Our main character is truly growing up in this chapter. Wanting to work on his physique, speak up more on how he feels, and getting to know his little brother more. While also the little brother is learning things as well and the mother is getting the hard reality of harsh comments. Comments that might one day be said behind her oldest son back.

But none the less, she looks past that an knows her son means the world to him. And his happiness comes first! So no matter who he loves she'll always be their for him. :)

read this on a whim at the library and why did it make me cry omg

just, we love seeing parents being so respectful & supportive of their children
genuinely trying to see things from kid's pov & understanding that some of the "immature" behavior/choices is a natural part of growing up & u gotta let them find their own paths

convos @ home were hard at this time, literally walked out fighting that day so this was just extremely healing to read <3

This is one of my favourite manga series by far and I can’t wait for volume 3. Its such a wholesome and woke story. I love the mom she reminds me a lot of my own mother. The only thing that bothers me is the fact that it’s a SLOWWWWW burn. But most BL manga’s are so It’s fine I can live with it

This was a brilliant sequel. I love how quietly accepting and supportive Hiroki's brother, Yuri, is. Seeing his POV was so cute. I think he might be Ace, or maybe he's just too young to know his orientation yet, but I definitely get an aro-ace vibe from him.
I flove how supportive Hiroki's mum is, but how she's also carefully analysing situations, like staying over and phone wallpapers. The fact she read the BL manga was AWESOME. Such a precious moment, when she encouraged Hiroki to read it and think for himself, without admitting he'd been influenced by his absently homophobic father. She's really trying to help Hiroki find his voice and his strength to feel how he feels without always lying about it or hiding it. The way she tries hard to understand him and his feelings is amazing. The way a simple phrase or conversation makes her rethink things from Hiroki's POV, like the shoes situation and the "what a waste" conversation. Each were subtly brilliant, clever and eye-opening for her.
The epilogue, where the author explains they came out to their mother during the process of writing the manga was just... There are no words for how powerful that is.
