This novel is a dark comedy that spits on toxic masculinity and I'm all for that. The tone is both flippant - where most of the humor comes from - and serious. Ridiculous premise and plot but packed with substance. Very entertaining.

Jujur ini buku bagus sehingga ingin memberi bintang 5. Tapi agak gimana sama kontennya yang super vulgar, galau ingin memberi bintang 4.
Ya karna emang keren banget jadi ujungnya tetap aku kasih bintang 5. Kok bisa gitu nulis 3 kejadian 'menclak-menclak' tapi tetap bisa diikuti alurnya. Nama karakternya aneh-aneh aku selalu ga pernah bingung mereka siapa. Ceritanya selalu tidak bisa ditebak mau kemana. Definitely a page-turner!

Ceritanya perlu difilosofi. Main problemnya agak aneh (mengenai kemaluan yang tak bisa bangun), namun dari situ bisa belajar banyak hal. Jadi bisa mengenal tata cara kehidupan di bagian lain di bumi ini.

Completely bizarre but highly entertaining and emotional, Vengeance is Mine, All Others Pay Cash traces the love story of Aja Kawak, his penis Bird, and his longtime love interest Iteung through the tumultous shanty town in Indonesia. Perhaps it was the translation, but the plot and writing felt stale to me, as if what was once a lively tale had been dulled to academia. Nonetheless, the plottwists at the end made me tear up.
