So different from the tv series that intrigued me to read this. A bit of a let down really. All the names, story lines and emotions that came with watching the tv series aren't included. It's like E4 thought up a totally different storyline for the series. I don't know how you can even call the series based on this book, it just isn't the same.

Totally hilarious. A lot of the reviewers don't seem to realize there's a difference between a novel and actual diaries. I loved the book so much that I spent $21 to get the sequel off amazon in the UK since I can't find it anywhere in the US. I'd never pay 21 bucks for a paperback, but I just can't wait any longer to read part two. I love the show as well so I don't get why people weren't in love with the book. There were plenty of times I laughed out loud.

I read this book only because I love the TV show and I wanted to find out the differences between the book and the series. It was interesting reading what the original characters were like and the fact that it's actually set in '89 not '96; there was only one big problem with it - it's definitely not for my age group. I read it in about a minute and there were some funny bits, but I think I'll just stick with the TV show.

Being an avid teen diarist when I was in high school, this book pulled on my heart strings. I also was a fat teen who went through similar motions as Rae did.

It was brilliant and very nostalgic to read. All though, I was raised in the 2000s, I could very much so relate!

The BBC show is one of my favorites and this book gave a new look into Rae Earls world and life.

Since this is her 16 year old dairy I can understand some not enjoying it, but you can’t judge her lived experience.
