Loved it. That ending, man! I adore Locke and Jean.

This book. This book! The plot is exquisite and ties together so wonderfully in the end. But this book is so much more.

The book starts off with a 6-page teaser that ends in a rather uncertain way, which meant I was immediately immersed and immediately scared. But all that happened after got me so immersed in equal parts as that teaser that I often enough forgot about that teaser completely.  Now that is some writing.

This book has the plot going for it, but also, the characters and the character growth. Lynch has a knack for making each character he introduces well rounded and believably motivated on its own. Even if a character only has a role to play for 50 pages, they aren't exactly flat. Making Jean and Locke grow and their friendship do so as well through their own growth, facilitated by their circumstances and the other characters, is something incredible to see play out.

Last, chapter 11 has to have been one of the best chapters I've ever read in my life. The things that play out in that chapter, the incredible conversations and the truths that are finally let loose.. I was hooked and breathless from start to finish.

Very much Pirates of the Caribbean meets Oceans 11 - I just liked it slightly less than the first. Love a good heist and found family
