I’m not sure how to review this. I love Jenny Slate, but I didn’t love this as much as I’d imagined. It was light, interesting, sometimes repetitive. There wasn’t as much depth or insight as I thought there would be - it felt more surface, and maybe something I would have enjoyed more when I was in my early 20’s. I appreciated her writing style in parts, and loved some of the themes and places she was taking us (patriarchy, heartbreak, female friends) but overall it didn’t quite do what I’d hoped it would. Maybe my expectations were too high.
