whimsy is sometimes cliche but sometimes the realest thing i’ve ever heard so

Incredible. Made me laugh, made me cry, made me call a friend and say, “hey, can I read this passage to you?”

I love this book and I know that it will be one that I reread and dog-ear and annotate with a glitter gel pen.

I’m sad that I finished it, but it isn’t really finite if I can just start it again!!!

i think i'm in love w jenny slate so i'm biased here, but i genuinely liked it & thought it was cute + sweet. whimsical self-explorations & fictions obviously reminiscent of clarice lispector, w/ a friendly 21st century casualness that made little weirds easy to digest and fun to to read. jenny slate if you're reading this i'm free on fridays if you want to hang out.

Feeling seen as a girl who is choosing to be whimsical and joyful despite it all

Quirky in the most unadulterated sense. It takes you to deep places in the most lighthearted way. It is healing; Jenny's words unmasked bitterness and replaced it with lingering wholeness.

4.5-4.75: this is a book of essays and the begining is a little rough wt a bunch i would skip BUT the middle-end is really good with some chapters that were amazing. I NEED to get my own copy and mark it up although i fear this will result in some chapters being completly underlined from start to finish
