I enjoyed this book so much more then I thought I would. I loved the magic and world, thought I wish there was more character building then politics. If I had to compare this book to another I would definitely compare it to The Folk of Air Trilogy.

This was a fast-paced adventure-filled ride. At one point I had to check if it was part of a series because I couldn't believe this book could be resolved with the amount of pages that were left!

The missing star is because key elements of the plot were predictable.

Started Mar 28. Just couldn’t get into it before I wanted to read something else. Will pick up later, or maybe do audiobook

A great examination of wealth and privilege, with great character development

LGBTQ rep: demiromantic bi MC, many queer side characters including 3 various aro/ace characters, an ace enby, and an established older lesbian couple

the book starts slow and was hard for me to read for the first 150ish pages, i considered dnfing but pushed through and im glad i did. although the story is slow at first the climax and second act and ending makes it worth that slow start.
