INCENDIARY follows Renata Convida, a young woman with the power to steal memories. After years under the forced servitude of the King of Puerto Leones who is trying to decimate her people, she is now part of the rebellion working against him. She manages to infiltrate the castle from within and must use her wits and powers to find a powerful weapon threatening to squash the rebellion for good.

I absolutely loved this book! Cordova is one of my favorite authors of all time and she literally never disappoints. Renata isn’t the most reliable of narrators but that only makes her journey and growth that much more compelling. There were so many twists and turns in this story that I constantly wanted to keep reading, yet had time to come up with theories thanks to the carefully laid out clues throughout. Absolutely amazing fantasy story, now one of my favorites of all time!

i honestly wasn't expecting to like this book so much?? it's perfect for fans of "the cruel prince" and the enemies-to-lovers trope. i haven't read six of crows yet, but i feel like lovers of s.o.c. would adore this novel. they just have a similar vibe, in my opinion.

A strong point of Incendiary is the development of the protagonist Renata's character. I liked her mystery and complexity, and the way Zoraida Cordova contrasts Renata's view of herself with others' views of her. Cordova creates an interesting situation of mistrust, redemption, and betrayal.

I read Incendiary with an anticipation for something that never came to fruition. The world and situation had so much potential, but once I finished the novel I was left with the sense that Renata had not actually progressed very far.

We spend a lot of time following her around the kingdom, from the castle to the rebels to wherever else, and at the end of the book nothing had really been achieved. I kept waiting for the other shoe to drop, for the plot to find a solid drive, but it didn't happen. The ending has set the circumstances up so that the sequel may find a clearer, stronger plot, but I don't feel that Incendiary has something special enough in it to make me want to read the sequel.

Stumbling upon the fairy-loot exclusive of this has to be one of my most impressive finds at a thrift store. I was iffy going into this book because it seemed like there would be some dark magic in it but I ended up skimming some of the backstories in the book. It was hard for me to get into but overall it was alright.

The story line is good I just found it to be so boring. I called it and gave up. If it was shorter I feel it could have been a great book.

I've tried to read this book twice now, I couldn't get into the audiobook so I tried physically.  Sadly I still couldnt get into it.  The characters were just flat and the world wasn't interesting.

This was actually not my taste. The main idea and world are fine, but the "secrets revealed and the way the author did it.... not for me.

I was recommended this book, and I'm glad I read it. It was pretty good and worth the time I put into it.
