This comic is about over coming heart break. It was really good and a quick read.

I liked this metaphor for heartbreak and all that, and I liked where it ultimately goes, but...
Near the beginning, our main character uncovers a sex slave ring and murders a dude. Now, this does seem like a dude who deserves murdering, so that's cool, but I felt like this went too far too fast. It felt a little like the story would've worked better if we built to that, like by the time the character is trying to recover that piece of her heart, she's done increasingly difficult/bad things.
This is the beginning, and it's by far the worst thing the character does, and I think that sets a tone or expectation for the book that wasn't met for me. I thought she'd end up stabbing a motherfucker who didn't really deserve it? Killing a doggo? Throwing a baby into a garbage dispose-all? Instead, she carries on a disingenuous relationship, which, c'mon, who hasn't?

I loved the art in this and the use of color. And I ended up loving Emma. She felt like a fully realized, flawed, fucked up, hoping-to-be-hopeful person. Some of the pacing or plot beats could have been more concise / clearer, but overall, I had a blast on this emotional road trip to reclaim pieces of one's heart. There were moments that had me chuckling aloud, and moments that had me shocked-emoji. And I did love the ending hook (and I do hope Brock finds his way back, sobsob).

This is one of the most beautifully drawn and emotionally charged comics I have read in a long time. The story of a young woman going on a quest to reclaim her broken heart has got great dialog and drop dead gorgeous colors. You can feel the emotions in every panel and the story just rlows. It had layers upon layers of emotions that make me want to read it again and again. I hope to see much more out of these creators. God speed.

"If The Man With No Name can't understand what a fucking treasure you are, then he's just not even worth it in the first place."
Oh my gosh. The storytelling aspect of this graphic novel was unreal.

A heartbroken girl wishes away her heart, an a vaguely Satanic figure takes it away to be broken into pieces and redistributed to seven others. She immediately regrets it, and has to spend the rest of the book getting the pieces back. It's sort of like the opposite of hunting for horcruxes from the Harry Potter books.
A quick read that I rather enjoyed. The exact mechanics of how she reclaims the pieces is murky. Sometimes they have to wish it back, but other times she physically takes it. Regardless, the plot kept moving at a good clip.
