Did it need to be as long as it was? No. I still really enjoyed this book even with some of the cringey factor.

Okey so I have a lot to say about this book.
After reading my first adult romance book I wanted to tip in the more smutty area of books and try how I would like that. I heard about a lot of different books and I was just never feeling the way that that would be an actual good book with an actual good writing style.
This was the first book I thought might actually good....boy was I wrong.
The writing style feels like you are reading a fanfic and it's really repetitive, cringey and doesn't make much sense, but I was ready to overlook that and at the beginning it was looking good.
The plot with Rachel getting the Doctor thing and all was actually interesting and I wanted to see where that would go and it actually made sense. Her relationship with Jake (I have read the novella) was fine enough. I was okey to overlook of the whole "You are mine" stuff I really dislike.
I was even positive cuz this book actually mentioned consent and I was hoping this would just be a lil cringey smut to enjoy.
But this has so much misogyny, sexism, homophobia sprinkled in there. Rachel is the typical 'I'm not like other girls' and she is 'one of the boys' until a certain point I just couldn't stand it.
She was so unbearable, honestly all of them were...
The only one I liked kinda was Mars but idk if with further reading that would've changed but I just couldn't pull through anymore. It got to a point where I didn't even enjoy the smut of this anymore.
I also heard that with the journey of Jake and Caleb there comes even more homophobia and I dont think I could've beared that, so I decided to stop.
I dont know what else to say. I actually could say a lot more....
This is a bad wattpad smut story nobody should need to pay for.
The quality is not existent and i can not believe that this book which badically is nothing but bad porn was actually TRADITIONALLY PUBLISHED
The end
...
I hate this book

OK where to start? The spicy scenes were Hot. I'd give the spice 4 chili peppers 🌶. I enjoyed the story overall. Some of it was cringe but mostly it was good.

I felt like the relationship between Rachel and Jake was amazing and he was my favorite. Her relationship with Caleb was great. Her relationship with both of them made sense. However, Mars just didn't fit, didn't flow. It was random. It was too sudden. Her relationship with him in relation to the other two guys felt disjointed. If she had just had Caleb and Jake it would have been a 5 star book imo

Note: Prior to reading this book, you need to read the prequel novella That One Night.

At 756 pages, this book was TOO LONG. It felt never ending. I would say it could have been edited down, but I don't know if it could have because of the four main characters and them each having a complex history/backstory. This book mainly centers around Rachel and how she brings/forces everyone together into a tight knit relationship/family. Her ties to them and then their ties to each other are explored. There's a lot of steamy sex (MF, MFM, MM, MFMM) with lots of different kinks and situations fit in between the more emotional and deep moments. Some of the stuff going on had me rolling my eyes, while others worked.

I hate to say it, but I didn't love Rachel. I did at first, but then her personality became too shifty. She changed herself to fit whichever guy(s) she was with. One moment she was in charge, the next someone else was. It was awkward to me and felt like the way it was explained was that she was wild and from a famous family. I wondered which Rachel she truly was. I get acting a little different with different people, but still.

Jake, I loved. I loved him with Rachel. I loved him with Caleb. I loved how he forced Ilmari to be friends with him. After that prequel novel, I could have just read a romance between him and Rachel. The addition of Caleb worked for the most part for me within Jake and Rachel's relationship, but I didn't actually like Caleb. He was supposed to be the dominant in their 3-way, but he didn't truly feel like it. Besides his history and ties to Jake, he didn't stand out with Rachel alone in my opinion.

Ilmari was a great character. I loved his relationship with Rachel and what they went through together. His opening up to a friendship with Jake and Caleb was fun. Just like with Jake, I could have read a book about just Rachel and Ilmari.

In the end, I kind of wished there was another woman for Ilmari, no Caleb unless it was just with Jake or Jake and Rachel, or just Jake and Rachel. It's not because I'm against the polyamorous relationship in this book. I just didn't find the four of them to be as cohesive a unit as I wanted them to be despite how hard they fought for it. That's just my opinion, though.
