This book is hilarious. I wish I could string words together like this. But even more, I wish I could think up such wacky and interesting ideas.

Time travel, flying, poetry, improbability, death, reincarnation, immortality, super intelligent shades of the color blue, volume, math, music, bowling, size, dry British humor.

I just love it all.

To be fair, the books seem to lose something with every new installment. I thought the start was stronger than the finish, but it doesn't matter. The start is so strong that he could have written twenty volumes of decreasing quality before it would start to be unbearable.

Barely made it through. Don't remember anything.

5 - Mostly Harmless: I used this edition to save the highlighted sections from the 4th book, and for my reading of the 5th book.
I felt that this was the weakest entry into the series to date. Although the same humour was present throughout, it felt lesser and like butter spread over too much bread. For the first half the characters didn't really interact and when they did it was short lived and felt rushed towards the end. I'm hoping that it picks up again in the last instalment.

I've always heard of this book and finally took the time to read it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Hitchhiker's guide was everything I expected and at times not which made it all the more entertaining. I've yet to read the books proceeding it and I'm sure I will get a kick out them as well.

douglas adams is the funniest science fiction author i've ever had the privelege of reading. his absurdism, cynicism, sarcasm, and sheer brilliance coalesce into a series as comically convoluted as the Guide itself. whether it's explaining the intricacies of flying, the triple-breasted whores of eroticon six, or just telling another great drinking story, douglas adam pours laugh into laugh into this wonderful five-book trilogy.

too bad the movie was terrible.

Uno dei libri più bizzarri che abbia mai letto! Il finale è stato inaspettato, ma non mi è dispiaciuto
