I enjoyed House Rules and I enjoy Jodi Picoult as a rule, but for some reason this time I didn't just love the book. I found myself frustrated with the different characters taking turns this time (which I enjoyed in both My Sister's Keeper as well as Nineteen Minutes) but this time, I found it harder to enjoy that style of writing. Also, the ending does become pretty predictible early on. That being said, I do like how Jodi Picoult is able to real dive deeply into the characters, so much that you care about what happens to them, and you think about getting back to the book everytime you have to put it down.
I don't know a lot about Asperger's syndrome, so I don't know how accurate all of the information is in the book, but I am sure the emotion of the characters is pretty accurate.

Holy hell! That was good. There were parts that I could not predict, which is always good. And the ending... Damn. I love Picoult books, she's always got something crazy going on!
For some reason, stories about people who have Asperger's syndrome fascinate me, and Picoult does a more than adequate job in describing what a person and a family go through when dealing with Asperger's syndrome.
A am a sucker for a Jodi Picoult book. Her books grab you in and keep you entertained as you continue reading. The plots are all very similar and the flow of the stories are similar. But, I like that. I know exactly what I am going to get when I start one of her books.
House Rules took me about 4 hours to read and it was really easy to get into and then finish. I would highly suggest this book for a plane ride.

Amazing. I did figure out the end but still worth it to the last page.
Once again, a great read by Piccoult. I just love her books!
very good book. kept me hooked til the end. good insight into kids on the autism spectrum.
Re-read this and enjoyed it a lot more since getting a lot more into true crime and thus relating to the protagonists obsession with forensics ect more as well as seeing things in new light due to being older this time and knowing more about some of the themes in the book.
The writing was good but the story something just doesn't sit right.
