The writing was good but the story something just doesn't sit right.

I INVESTED 600 PAGES INTO THESE CHARACTERS FOR A 4 PAGE ENDING I AM FURIOUS. I get the idea and allure of a well executed, open ended book but this was ✨not it✨ !!!
Also a lot of "vaccinations cause autism" mentality.

I really enjoyed this book, particularly because the author tells the story through multiple view points throughout the entire book and seamlessly ties all of the characters together in the end.
A great look into the mind of a teenager with asperger's who is accused of murder, and how his social impairment greatly impacts his own life as well as his family's. Touching, sad, but also hopeful.

It doesn't give away too much like other Jodi Picoult books. It's a real page-turner. The mother character though is downright infuriating and misinformed.

Confession: I am a bit of a book snob. I did not think Jodi Picolt was meaty enough for me. I started reading House Rules, however, for my neighborhood book club, and was hooked from page one. Looking forward to finishing it!

Yes, it was as good as it started out to be. JP definitely did her research.

Wonderfully written book. Explains Aspergers' syndrome so well and in so much detail. Very educational. The story is very unique and yet very typical of this author. It examines how one person's medical history affects the rest of the family. It also examines the perspective of the patient himself in detail. The end is a twister but one which leaves you satisfied though I feel the author could have added a couple of chapters to close loose ends. This end was a twist and then "boom!, it's over" moment.
