I almost did not choose to re-read this book since my 7th grade self was meh about it. However, as a parent to wildly imaginative children, this book was much more funny and filled with descriptions that I better appreciate now than I did then. The only misstep to my enjoyment of this story is the chapter with the duchess and her baby. It was difficult for me to read, and I should have skipped over it because it bothered me so much.

A re-“read” for me, listening to Jodie comer read on Audible. An excellent novel, nonsensical and intelligently funny, read wonderfully by such a playful actor who brought every character to unique life.
