An absolutely fascinating insight into the life and personality and drivers of one of the superhumans amongst us.
Great book, a little bit slow to read in the second quarter. I was most interested in Elons emails. Best email: the one about abbrevations in the aerospace industry.
This was interesting. Elon can definitely be a dick it seems but his brain also works in fantastic ways & his sole mission seems to be improving life for the good of all humanity.
I had to laugh at how he is known to Irish goodbye at a dinner party-just gets up & leaves to go outside to look at the stars. He does not suffer fools - LOL. I'm the same way.

Pretty good book. Suggests to me that the keys to success are being very smart and working really hard. Nothing new there, but it is inspiring to hear it again and again. I am impressed that with his initial success at PayPal he decided to do things that change the world. It is a great privilege of wealth to try to make a positive difference. The book is well written. It will be interesting to see if he can continue to succeed. He is still young.
Elon is a jerk but it's necessary. He'll die at 50 because of overwork. He's not a nice person but he used to be. He thinks he's a good father and husband but his wife hesitates to say she loves him. Oh, and he selected her after requesting a VIP get together and basically he just persued her like a project. She might be the only person that understands him on a personal level.
Talulah Riley is the real MVP. She gets to have the empathy and heart that Elon had to discard when he decided to fulfill his potential.
No that's not right. This book names so many "real MVPs", so many. Guys who are happy to not have to carry the mantel of Steve Jobs, the expectations of a country, who would rather not fight Elon for control, or at least who fought him and lost, and now are sitting pretty even though they lost.
Some guys got recruited by Blue Origin, thereby improving their salaries and decreasing their stress level. Elon is not loyal. He has very few people he is candid with. He is a war general.

An amazing tale of risk taking and extremism. I find the story of Elon Musk really inspirational. Even though I am personally very at odds with Elon‘s management style, I am still awed by his achievements. The book is a great and easy read with lots of story telling and comes across very well researched with lots of background information. Thanks!
It's 4 AM and I've just finished reading the biography of Elon Musk. Been reading it about 3 days now, almost at a stretch, stopping just to eat-sleep-shit. And, it was worth it.
I always thought biographies are boring stuff. And I was wrong again! This book is so much fun! Filled with humor, deep insights, thoughts… Just awesome.
I won't say anything about Elon Musk. This guy is a genius and a dreamer that this world badly needs. Very few others have accomplished so much, in such a variety of fields as Elon did. Thanks to him, I can believe that I'll see humanity level up as a species 🙂, in my lifetime!

Pretty good summary of his life but at times deeply devolves into hero worship.
Elon Musk's story is a great one, Ashhelee Vance puts it in words, I can feel the hurry to get this out in the market, and I appreciate that the author tries to keep a balanced outlook on Mr. Musk despite kind of being his friend.
