This wasn’t bad, the low rating is a me problem! I’m just very over this type of fantasy plot, only read this cuz the first one was for bookclub and i enjoyed it so i wanted to read the sequel! I’m glad this was a duology and not dragged out for 3+ books. I like how it wrapped up and I was surprised at the twist ending! I was really bored reading the book and skimmed a lot just to get through it, but that’s just cuz I don’t care for kingdom/queen/king fantasy plots anymore. I would have eaten this up 5+ years ago!

the chokehold finn has me in??? oh my lord. that male is the finest specimen. brie is still a baddie, and the twists and turns of this one had me shoooook. i enjoyed the hell out of this.
