This book was really not what I expected. It was dark filled with lots of secrets. The characters were not pleasant at all, the main wasn't likeable, carrying herself like she was better than others. When it seems like she was finally going to redeem her sins, uncover all her secrets, she still has even darker ones.

The plot was unpredictable, but I felt like I knew who the killer was as the book was coming to an end. All in all it was quite a good book.

Holy shit that was dark. I’ve seen people reviewing this book and saying it’s perfect for 12 year olds and omg it is not! I found it hard to read, it wasn’t the writing but I was a slow read for me. I found the antics between the characters unrealistic and the way the social order of the school was hard to see happening in real life, maybe because I have a different understanding in my head.
I liked the way many layers of secrets were unvailed even until the last line, not my favourite style of mystery book but still good. Ty way relationships are spoken about are confusing as we don’t know any of the characters and I kept trying to mentally string together who hooked up with who in order to remember possible motives.
I wish there were more clues as the the main reveal of the plot. I thought it was kinda far fetched in the sense that it wasn’t something you would think of and not in a good way. If there was a subtle hint I think it would have clicked so nicely.
I HATED the main character so much. She was annoying and always thought she was a better person and in the right even though she was debatably one of the most evil characters.
I found the ending to be fitting but also incredibly unfulfilling.

(THIS REVIEW IS FOR PEOPLE WHO HAVE READ THE BOOK TO SHARE OPINIONS, I APOLOGIZE I DONT KNOW HOW TO WRITE REVIEWS FOR PEOPLE WHO DIDNT READ IT ALREADY HAHA)
When it reveals in the beginning that she had a secret and that it was so horrendous it couldn't be revealed,  I didnt think it would be that she "killed" her own brother. You guys know she didn't actually kill him but participated in it. Which is crazy since she so dearly loved him. I must admit I did think Kay was the killer at some point. I love the sapphic add-ons because I feel it adds more heat on the plot between Nola, Kay and Brie in a good way. (lol it rhymes) The only characters I didnt like were Holly, she needs to calm down it was giving very much brat behavior; and Tai because she annoyed me every now and then. I think the characters were less annoying but intersting because they caught my attention in an odd way. On another note the peoms such as Tai Burned Chicken, (tricias, i forgot hers lol sorry. Hers was my favorite too) Madd tea party and so on, were amazingly put together, GOOD JOB NOLAA!! They perfectly reflect their past's and how it led up to their current situation. Something I would've enjoyed more was a longer scene explaining nolas true feelings and their fight. Also an apology from Kay's friends -_- The tension correlates perfectly with the dark academia theme.
Dark 4/10 Academia 6/10, YA 9/10. Overall very good to start off my tbr list of 55+ YA dark academia books >v<

I really enjoyed this book. I wasn’t expecting LGBTQ+ storylines which is great and I loved how unique the layout of the mystery was. The characters are annoying, yeah, but really that’s the whole point. They go to an elitist and rich private boarding school. The main character (Kay) spends most of the book realising that there’s no point being so horrible to people just to climb up social hierarchy.

Anyways, the main plot.

There were so many plot twists throughout which I loved, it didn’t make the plot dry because you were always finding out new things. You get a basic picture of what’s happened at the start and it just fills up with more and more details right until the end. I loved learning about each of the main character’s secrets  and I loved the layout and idea of a dead girl’s revenge website.

If you like mystery I just say read it, it’s an enjoyable storyline. It’s unique, fast paced. I loved it.
