I love a short book that gives me just enough to want to discuss what I read. While I am iffy on how I feel about the message of the book, it got me thinking and made me want to discuss it with friends.

This was beautifully done. I listened to the audiobook read by Daveed Diggs -- highly recommend. What a way to engage with the horrific legacy of the Atlantic slave trade and offer hope for escape for those cast overboard, while acknowledging that such a legacy rises again and again to hurt more and more people the longer we ignore it.

I loved this book! I need to go find the music it’s based off of so I can see the different forms of the story as they come together. Super cool concept and great writing!
