“The Bramford has had far more than its share of ugly and unsavory happenings.”
“You’re pregnant.”
“He has his Father’s eyes.”
I watched the movie years ago and kinda wished I had read the book first to be more surprised. But with that said, the writing was strong and the storyline is a classic and tragic. All the characters are extremely well written and the scenes are easy to picture all the way to the crazy ending.

I went into this book because of how influential it was to the horror genre. What I got was a story of the gaslighting, abuse, and dismissal of women and their health issues. Having read The Stepford Wives, I was so stoked this was another feminist story. I was legitimately stressed out reading this because of the constant gaslighting and dismissal of Rosemary. Definitely required reading for the genre. Audiobook was narrated by Mia Farrow, the actress who played Rosemary in the film adaptation, which made the listening experience fucking awesome.

i love 60s horror and this was just so good. the way levin wrote rosemary was so touching and felt so sympathetic and real. when i found out he wrote stepford wives i nearly squealed!! this man knows men are EVILLLLLL i was surprised how the women were written, i felt i saw myself in rosemary - even just down to the way she discusses her period. i think there’s a total sympathy for rosemary, she is not made fun of and is not a damsel. she is a victim of a societal pressure
the way she was dismissed as a women by so many aspects of society and the feeling of social isolation it was incredible!!! need to watch the film
