OH GOD, MY HEART
I put off reading this for a couple of days because I just knew I wouldn't be happy. I wasn't happy with United As One so my gut instinct was to wait a few before diving into this final book. Is this really the finale though? Like are we done with the Loriens and the Human Garde? Because I still have a lot of questions
But then how about Einar? I felt sorry for him too. All he wanted was to be a leader, to help the Garde. Was he really going to rot in prison with an inhibitor in his brain?
What happens to the Mog leader A (can't spell her name)? Is she going to find her way to New Lorien? Did her people get help?
Where the fuck is Adam? I've looooved him since he was introduced. Is a lousy mention all he's going to get? Isn't he going to get out?
I would have liked to have read more about Marina and Ella. They weren't that active in this book. Pretty sure Marina and John are a thing.
Gamora came back but she was alone. Did the other chimera die? Glad BK was mentioned.
Nine should get a girlfriend. Maybe Daniela?
Ugh. So basically, the Garde made a new safe haven kinda like Wakanda, with a big ass force field but in India. John is now their great leader, like Pittacus Lore. And the other OG Loric are his council. Oh! And they're like the Avengers, offering their superpowered services to those in need. Wow. But I'm still super pissed that not everybody had a nice ending. Sigh. I hope James Frey makes a new Garde series. Like a collection of adventures, each Garde going on a mission or something.

Okay, so I get why Five had to die. Everyone hated him. He was a "monster", irreparably damaged. But I felt sorry for him. He did try to repent, he just had so much anger in him. In the end, he redeemed himself --- not for the other Garde, but for himself and for a friend who saw more than the monster in him. Ran... whew. I never knew I cared about her character that much until I found myself crying when she said goodbye to Nigel. I was literally sobbing. The girl who always had to hide her power, who thought she wasn't capable of using her abilities for good, saved everybody in the end. Ughhhhh. That just broke me.But then how about Einar? I felt sorry for him too. All he wanted was to be a leader, to help the Garde. Was he really going to rot in prison with an inhibitor in his brain?

I loved this book so much. The pacing was amazing. This book was bright the spin off series to a bittersweet end.
Frankly disappointing. Not because the plot went in an unexpected direction, which it did, and not in a good way, but because the wrong characters were focused on most of the time. Instead of focusing on the pacifist who can blow stuff up, or the abused villains son, or most importantly the shapeshifter that can’t stand her own face, we keep focusing on the white bread healer that looks like a dead love interest for no reason. But this time, she’s angry, which makes her so much more interesting. The awkward love triangle here between John, Taylor and Kopano is extra awkward given the rumors that he’s dating Marina. Then there’s five making the same exact mistakes his character development in previous books had him move past. The authors handling of each characters is juvenile and makes me wonder if any book reading took place before writing.
I felt that this book was quite slow throughout the entire thing until about the last two chapters. I am very upset with . There seemed to be a complete lack of characterization in this novel that made characters seem uncanon somehow, or competely irrelevant when they weren't. Overall, it was an okay ending to a very long series, but it definitely lacked the same energy as the original series.

how Ran was killed off. Why did they have to do that? WHY? However, I am glad that her turtle came back to Nigel at the end of the novelTHIS is what I was waiting for! Finally the Loric were reunited with the Garde in this epic conclusion to an outstanding story that started 10 books ago. Return to Zero had all of the familiarity of the original Lorien Legacies, the continuation of the Legacies Reborn storyline, and the intricate twists that tied both series together. This book reminded me why I got so into the series in the first place. As expected, the book contained perfect amounts of suspense, humor, shock, and action to make it thrilling and intriguing. It was written in a way that made reading it quick yet thorough in its content. The old and new came together perfectly and left me feeling ~emotions~ as the characters I've grown to care for fought against all odds. I'm grateful for this conclusion to my adventures with the Loric and Garde. What a journey it's been.
Revisiting this series after 6.5 years. I think my younger self would have enjoyed this more than I just did, but some of my confusion and boredom stemmed from the amount of time that’s passed since I’ve read anything to do with this series.
Very satisfying last book to a series I have loved for a while. Enjoyable character development and good writing. Overall, a worthy last chapter to the Lorien Legacies series.

I'm loving all of the new Legacies the Earth Guard have developed. Fun characters. I like where the story is going.
