Could be better, could be worse. Gets the job done and even sanitises after

This story takes a couple of interesting turns, and unlike many other reviewers I liked the open ending. My biggest frustration with the narration is that it relies on some really tired and shitty stereotypes about sex workers (for example that they’re lazy and deceptive). It seeeems like Flynn was trying to give us a different kind of sex worker character, but it’s a real miss. Sex work is work, and I’d love to see a story with a sex worker protagonist whose not either victimized or victimizer.

Quick read. Spooky, creepy, leaves you questioning what really happened.

Woah. Captivating, eerie, wacky, and genius. Finished wanting more of a resolution, but otherwise would’ve been 5 stars.
dark mysterious tense medium-paced

This book should've been a complete novel! I found it super creepy even though it's only 40-some pages. It had a lot of potential but because it's so short, the ending felt too abrupt, and that's why this gets 4 stars.

The hook was amazing, but the story itself was just a bit blah.

Like something you’d read on Reddit, but still fun

Listened to as an audiobook. Short story with some typical dark / twisted Gillian Flynn elements including manipulative narrator and other characters.
