Thank you NetGalley for providing me a free copy of this in exchange for an honest review.

This was very well written and tried to invoke a lot of emotions, but it ended up being bland and disconnected from me. This is for someone who loves poetry and reads a lot if it. It's not for someone dabbling into poetry. It was well written but had no emotional impact which it was trying to have.

I read this because of the gorgeous cover and ended up connecting with it on such an intimate level. In this beautiful collection of poetry, Shelby Leigh lays bare themes such as heartbreak, trauma, self-doubt, self-love, healing and being human.

As a 'giver' myself just like the author, I resonated with this book deeply. Having had my fair share of past hurts, regrets and toxic relationships, the experiences and imagery described here are all too familiar and relatable. I also appreciate the self-love exercises that the author has included, which I feel will come in handy.

While unapologetically raw, Girl Made Of Glass also feels remarkably uplifting and very freeing. This is my first foray in Shelby Leigh's work and I can't wait to read both her past and future books!

Thank you to Central Avenue Publishing and Netgalley for an ARC of this book.

Girl Made of Glass is an absolute amazing poetry collection! I connected with the poems on such a deep level and made me feel so vulnerable. There are so many beautifully raw poems that I wasn't able to put it down once I picked it up. The cover is also absolutely gorgeous and I also enjoyed the little pictures inside the book that made some of the poems stand out even more!

Thank you to Central Avenue Publishing and Netgalley for an ARC of this book.

Poetry like this is so important. There’s never enough ways to read about self-love and the journey to it. This collection does such a wonderful job at capturing the feelings that come with mental health struggles like anxiety and depression.
Honestly, it’s so hard to put into words how meaningful this was to read. Just seeing thoughts you’ve had during some of your darkest moments reflected back at you but with a hopeful undertone is just breathtaking. You hear so many times “it gets better” that you start to turn it out but when you read them in what feels like your own voice that is what’s truly comforting and why these verses are so powerful.
I highlighted so many lines that I’m definitely going to be getting a physical copy to reread during hard times.

Thanks to NetGalley and Central Avenue Publishing for sending me this arc!
Thanks to Shelby Leigh for sharing her words and experiences!

This book was so short but said so much in so few pages. It said all I felt regarding anxiety and self-image that I loved. Also while I couldn't relate to all of the passages for example the one about heartbreak, it was still thought-provoking. I also loved the images of the words that were a carry-on from the poem before them.

This was fantastic, I can’t wait to purchase my own copy. There were so many pieces that stood out to me and that truly resonated with me. I’ve highlighted the crap out of the e book and would love to annotate a physical copy if I get the chance. It deals with harder darker emotions in such beautiful ways and it’s vague enough you will be able to find relatability within the words even if you don’t resonate with the specific story being told

Thank you NetGalley and Central Avenue Publishing for the chance to read and review this book.

I was pretty excited when I saw girl made of glass on netaglley! I love central avenue and so many of the books they publish, and the cover and title on this one are super cute. However, the book just wasn't it for me. After the first poem things just went down and I couldn't get into it. It feels like so many people are writing like this and nothing really stood out.

This book is so beautiful! Shelby writes so well about self-love, discovery, and acceptance. Girl Made of Glass is perfect for anyone who finds themselves fixating on the past or their own flaws, and needs to learn how to forgive themselves.
