I received this book free through Goodread's Giveaways.

This book was absolutely wonderful to read! Typically I'm not a memoir/personal insight type of book person, but reading about Buzz Aldrin's life stories and his own perspective on life lesson was amazing. Even in his 80's he hopes to inspire young people to reach for their dreams. This really is a must read for everyone.

In spite of our technological advances in the past five decades, the moon landing is still the greatest scientific achievements in history. If anyone has the right to pass on some life lessons to the rest of us, it's former astronaut Buzz Aldrin. In this slim book, Mr. Aldrin does just that and we are all the richer for it.

Becoming the second man in history to set foot on the moon took a lot of dedication, and living up to that historic achievement even more so. Mr. Aldrin shares with readers the life lessons that have guided his life and career with such advice as "Keep your mind open to possibilities" and "practice respect for all people." Sure some of these things could have been found in a fortune cookie, but the stories Mr. Aldrin has to tell about his upbringing, life, and the Apollo 11 mission bring new meaning to these tag lines.

Many of Mr. Aldrin's tales are fascinating to anyone who is not too familiar with the Apollo program. However, the longer Mr. Aldrin goes on in his chapters, the further away he moves from his main point. The shorter chapters are far more to the point while longer chapters are a little meandering. Still, there are some good stories in each chapter and plenty of Mr. Aldrin's famous with and charm. Just know that some of the chapters will take a while to circle back to the point.

On the whole, this is a good graduation gift for students interested in science & space and I would recommend it to those readers as well as people interested in some good tales from a man who walked on the moon.

Nice little anecdotal book about not giving up on your dreams no matter what obstacles you face and keeping your integrity while you do it. Not the most riveting read, but a good way to kill some time.

The stories and anecdotes are fascinating, which I'd already mostly heard when I attended his author event at The Printer's Row Lit Fest a couple of months ago, but the life lessons are super cheesy and don't necessarily fit in with the particular anecdote. They were also repetitive. It feels super disrespectful to rate a book by Buzz Aldrin this low, but objectively the book itself is meh. Probably would've given it 3 stars if I was hearing these stories for the first time.

Half memoir, half inspirational, No Dream is Too High works much better as the former. As an inspirational book, its lessons are a little on the pithy side, although they are good lessons to keep in mind. As a short memoir, on the other hand, it performs much more admirably. In the style of a good compilation album, it has a mixture of stories familiar to everyone, anecdotes known to more dedicated fans of the Space Race, and a few tales that have likely never been told to a large audience before.

Great back story on Buzz, my first astronaut story. Great respect for this man along with the others.
