I just love this piece of schlock. Actually it's not really schlock, but it is schlock-adjacent, but with tantalizing stuff -- a stand-in for the Museum of Natural History, the fascinating history of cabinets of curiosity, medical history shenanigans, all manner of gross stuff. And there's lots of NYC history, another love of mine. The Pendergast series gets super repetitive and dumb later on-- but for a weird kind-of-police-procedural-for-the-batshit-crazy, this one is my favorite and lots of fun.

The third Pendergast novel takes us through a world at the turn of the last century, where men were defined by what they collected. This is an exciting and adventurous thriller.

Interesting murder mystery. Not usually my type of book, but I enjoyed it. The book contains a few graffic descriptions of torcher. I recommend for 14 and up.

This was the first book I read by the Preston/Child duo, and it sucked me in. I have since read every book they have written and eagerly await further installations in the Pendergast series.

Wow! What a disturbing macabre and totally unbelievably entertaining novel that also delves into the horrific family history of Agent Pendergast. The conclusion is totally revealing and ties up all loose ends and entirely appropriate.
