This is full of unexpected twists and turns and I never would’ve guessed that it would’ve ended that way. Definitely want to read some more from this collection.

This was a fantastic read, lots of twists and turns to keep those pages turning at a rapid rate, thoroughly enjoyed it. Recommending it to my parents.

1/1/24 re read: keeping the three star rating. This time around I have to note how much I enjoyed the discussions of feline behavior. This did get a bit info-dumpy, more than Gerritsen's usual style.

Історія була реально моторошна, мабуть, найстрашніше, що я читала з 11 книг цієї авторки.
Не знаю, як Тесс Геррітсен вдається писати такі моторошні історії. Вона настільки детально описує злочини, що іноді навіть нудить від неприємних образів. Але саме це робить її книги такими захоплюючими.
Окрім моторошних, страшних та іноді гидотних почуттів, хотілося плакати.
Багато людей у цій історії не заслуговували на смерть. Вони просто пощастили зустріти на своєму шляху монстра. Це викликає почуття глибокого співчуття та жалю.
А ну трошки позитиву, авторка явно трішки заплуталась в кінці, кого б зробити вбивцею.
Я помітив момент, де авторка сама собі суперечила. Це було трохи дивно, але в цілому не зіпсувало враження від книги.
А взагалі дізнатися, хто монстр, було не важко в цей раз, але все рівно дуже цікаво.

Gripping. Something fell off a shelf while I was reading, scaring me half to death because the story was so intense. The plot is expertly revealed. I never would have guessed the ending. This is a very well-written suspense novel.
Another solid Rizzoli and Isles thriller.
I really appreciated Tess Gerritsen mixing it up with not only another character's point of view but also with a first person narrator, and I liked the jumps back in time a lot too.
I figured out what was going on a long time before Jane and Maura did but this was still a thoroughly enjoyable read.
