It's gory. It's gripping. It's Gerritsen. This book was just beyond amazing! I feel exhausted by all the action that just never stopped right up untill the end. This is another Gerritsen masterpiece and it will definitely go down as one of my favourites! I especially appreciate this story because I, myself am from South Africa, and while it mostly takes place in Botswana, I was extremely impressed by the accuracy of Gerritsen's account of the "African experience". She really got it so right, and the character Johnny reminds me so much of my friends and my father and how they feel about the bush! Millie's chapters were definitely my favorite, but the other side of the story in Boston was just as thrilling and interesting. I can honestly say I did not see the ending coming! But I do love how everything wrapped up. I could literally go on and on about this book forever, but I'll finish off by saying this is a must read for fans of Gerritsen and fans of thrillers, and it deserves every part of 5 stars!

Another great read from Ms. Gerritsen. I have to say that the backstory was even better than the book. I would love to read a full length story set in Africa...that part truly captured my imagination!
I have to say that I am enjoying the character changes that I see in Jane. She is becoming more likeable while still being a tough, no-nonsense detective. Same with Dr. Isles; I appreciate how they can show warmth in her character. I enjoy these strong female leads.

Excellent. It's been a while since I've read a Tess Gerritsen book but this was just as enthralling as her others and I love the team of Rizzoli and Isles.

Love this series! Tess Gerritsen knows how to keep you hooked!

In an almost strange coincidence two of my reading track joined in this book: Crime Fiction & Reading Africa. Rizzoli and Isles are on a case that leads back to a safari in Botswana with almost no survivors... Big cats at home and abroad and cases across jurisdictions that may or may not be connected - can the survivor outside Cape Town shed light on it?
As always Gerritsen weaves an intricate tale both on the murder mystery story lines and the personal ones.
