I always loved the show Rizzoli & Isles so when I found this at a tag sale I had to pick it up. The story was entertaining, captivating and had a great twist. The characters were truly fleshed out. The story went from Boston in some chapters to Botswana in Africa 6 years prior with both stories intermingling. A great mystery with two kick ass female leads!

Die Again is a gripping crime thriller that I have very mixed feelings about but I've got to admit, I couldn't put it down. It's the eleventh book in the Rizzoli and Isles series by Tess Gerritsen and the one that introduced me to this author.
The book starts with two different storylines—one being a first person POV of Millie, the sole survivor of an African safari that took place six years ago in Botswana and two, a third person perspective of a murder investigation being conducted by detective Jane Rizzoli and ME Dr. Maura Isles in Boston. When links are established between unsolved murders that have taken place all across the country in the past decade and a clue that connects it to the Botswana safari case, Rizzoli and Isles are forced to track Millie down and ask for her help in capturing her worst nightmare.
When I first started to read this book, I was incredibly excited because it's gory, thrilling and fast-paced. Unfortunately, toward the end of the book, I was reminded of the time I was thirteen and I'd decided to read a Secret Seven book for old times sake and had ended up being so frustrated with the story because it was obvious who the culprit was. I had a similar experience with this one which is why I cannot give it all four stars.
Having said that, I really enjoyed reading this one a lot because the writing is incredible, the characters are likeable and up until I figured the suspense out, the mystery is really gripping and exciting. So I'd definitely recommend this book and I look forward to reading Gerritsen's other works.

The story is told in two narratives the past the story is told by Millie Jacobson in Botswana, where she and group of people are on safari where things start to go deadly wrong and in the present day we are in Boston where Detective Rizzoli and Forensic Pathologist Isles are investigating a gruesome murder.
I really enjoyed Botswana I thought the writing was very descriptive making you feel like that you are in the beautifully surroundings with danger all around you, the danger side being the animals was very well researched in this book. The growth from Millie's character throughout the book was remarkable and I really liked her. I do feel that the Botswana safari trip could have been made into a book on its own as wanted to read more and the characters including Millie were very strong.
In parts I did feel a bit squeamish I was very glad I was not eating and it's made me look at my two cats differently. I didn't guess the killer at all throughout this story which made me enjoy it more.
This was my first read of Rizzoli and Isles and being a reader for the first time of the duo I could tell that they have a strong bond with each other and there was mentions to personal lives and events that had happened which I would have to read the other ten books to fully understand but this did not hinder the story for me at all in fact it's made me want read the others.

This one was fine. Definitely not my favorite of the series, but very readable. It felt a bit disjointed to me. I don't think it was because we had the Botswana chapters because I quite enjoyed those. I'm not sure what it was.

Two people are dead, they're stranded in the bush, and everyone but British tourist Millie thinks their safari guide Johnny is responsible for their deaths. When the shooting starts, Millie escapes into the wilderness and is rescued, never seeing the face of the man who fired the shots.
Meanwhile, back in Boston, a big game hunter is killed and strung up like the animals he hunted. Is it a coincidence that he was looking into the death of his son years ago on a doomed Botswana safari?
Gerritsen deftly weaves both story lines together, never letting one get too far ahead of the other until they collide, bringing Millie to Boston to try to identify the killer. This is the best Rizzoli and Isles book so far, and honestly, one of the best mysteries I've read - period.

I used to read Tess' novels in high school, so I thought I'd give this book a shot. A little too predictable for me. A murder mystery involving multiple continents and a serial killer who enjoyed killing people like animals. If you want an easy read and like murder mysteries, this is the book for you.
Die Again, the eleventh in the Rizzoli and Isles series, is, by far, my favourite novel in the entire Rizzoli and Isles series. Rizzoli is on the case after a big game hunter is found dead in his apartment, alone with the body of a snow leopard that he had been commissioned to stuff. Medical examiner, Maura Isles, connects the case to a number of seemingly unrelated deaths where the victims have been found hanging upside down, the same way a snow leopard would hang their prey. Into the world of big cats, Rizzoli and Isles find themselves connecting their trail to a sole survivor of a tragic trip to Botswana to find out who, or what, is behind these deaths.
The opening of this one was amazing. I was completely engaged right from the start. It was so completely different from other works in the series, and really different from anything I have read recently. My favourite parts of this novel were the sections of the safari and I could have read those chapters as a book by themselves. I absolutely loved it.
Like the other books in the series, this book could be read as a standalone but I absolutely recommend the series in their entirety. When I read Rizzoli and Isles , they end up feeling like old friends, catching up over a coffee, as I settle down easily into their narrative. I love reading what they have been up to and how their personal characters are developing.

wieder super geschrieben! der Mörder wurde erst in den letzten 20 Seiten gefasst aber trotzdem war das Buch nicht langweilig! Zum Schluss konnte ich es nicht mehr aus den Händen legen!!
